5 Summer Cocktails that You Need to Try in 2021

Summer is upon us and lockdown restrictions are slowly easing in the UK. Those are two very good reasons to throw the ultimate end of lockdown party and get a mobile cocktail bar hire,  go down the pub and order yourself one of your old favourites or fix yourself a cocktail at home. Either way, we suggest 5 summer cocktails that you must try in 2021.

Sex on the Beach

Oldie but goldie, the Sex on the Beach Cocktail adds that exotic summer vibe to any party and outing. You can enjoy it in the classical mix of vodka, peach schnapps, orange juice, and cranberry juice. Or you can enjoy it with a twist: replace the orange juice with pineapple slush and use orange slices to garnish it.

How to make a Sex on the Beach cocktail:

Mix 50 ml vodka, 25 peach schnapps, the juice of two oranges/ 100 ml pineapple slush, and 50 ml cranberry juice into a jug. Add ice to two tall glasses and pour the mix on them. Garnish with oranges or pineapple slices.

Garden of Eden

Looking to enter the garden of earthly delights while enjoying a cloudy drink? Try the Garden of Eden cocktail! The heavenly mix in the Garden of Eden cocktail contains gin, elderflower cordial, fresh lime, cloudy apple juice, and fresh mint leaves. This is the perfect drink for summer garden parties and a true crowd-pleaser. The fresh ingredients make it very approachable, the elderflower adds the flavour of the land, and the gin gives it a kick.

How to make a Garden of Eden cocktail:

Mix 100 ml gin, 20 ml elderflower cordial, 20 ml lime juice, and 120 ml cloudy apple juice into a cocktail shaker. Shake it well, pour it into two tall glasses and garnish it with fresh mint leaves.

Strawberry Daiquiri

The daiquiri is a cocktail that makes you think instantly of the beach. This summer, a daiquiri can even be your beach surrogate if the sanitary restrictions continue to prevent beach crowding. A classic daiquiri has only three ingredients: rum, citrus juice, and sugar. We suggest a daiquiri that throws a local ingredient into the mix, the strawberry. Mix the exoticism of rum and lime with the flavour of an English summer and add strawberry puree to your daiquiri.

How to make a Strawberry Daiquiri

Blend 500 g strawberries. Sieve the resulting puree to get rid of the seeds. And 2 shots of rum, ice and ½ lime juice to the puree, and blend it again. Pour into 2 Martini glasses and garnish with halved strawberries.

Porn Star Martini

If you want to go over the top by ordering or making a fancy drink, go with the Porn Star Martini cocktail. It’s very sweet, which makes it even more decadent.  The mix is made with vanilla vodka, passion fruit liqueur, passion fruit juice, and a prosecco shot. This sinfully sweet concoction is topped with a halved fresh passion fruit that floats suggestively in the drink.

How to make a Porn Star Martini

Mix the passion fruit liqueur, vodka, and the passion fruit juice into a cocktail shaker. Pour into two Martini glasses, add the prosecco shots, and garnish with a slice of passion fruit each.

Virgin Mojito

What about those who, for various reasons, can’t have an alcoholic drink? We have the perfect option for them: the virgin mojito. It’s fresh and summery, and it looks like a regular cocktail. Skip the rum in the classic mojito, replace it with lime juice, add ice, fresh mint leaves, sugar, and soda and you will have the perfect mocktail.

How to make a Virgin Mojito

Crash 6 mint leaves with ice into a mortar. Pour the mix into a cocktail shaker, add the juice of 3 limes, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and shake. Add this mix to two tall glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves.

These are a few of the cocktail options that we suggest for a summer that needs to compensate for 2020 and its many restrictions. Indulge in the instant pleasure of a summer cocktail (alcoholic or virgin) and enjoy the easing of restrictions and the slow but joyful return to normality. If you want to add the further indulgence of having a professional bartender prepare and serve these drinks to you, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
